CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT13

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT13* *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*.  *Acts 2:42*. Apart from continuing in the apostles doctrines and in fellowship they also continued in the breaking of bread and in prayers it tells me that this converts became part of every activity of the believer, they did not choose which one to participate in and the one not to participate in. No wonder they continued steadfastly because they embraced everything wholeheartedly and did not hide it but through their actions people could tell that this ones actually believed and continued steadfastly. From here we can see why they continued in the apostles doctrine, they gave in to everything that the apostles believed and taught and i believed that they saw the light in it and followed steadfastly. Unlike many of us today that choose what to believe and what to practice even how to practice it and if one da...

CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT12

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT12* *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*.  *Acts 2:42*. They continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrines and fellowship meaning that their fellowshipping was not once in a while thing but a thing that is constat. Something that they were doing in and out of season. You will agree with me that one thing that marks consistency is commitment, what you are not committed to you cannot be consistent in and one of the ways to be committed to fellowship apart from attendance at all times is active participation in the fellowship. Many go to fellowship to fulfill all righteousness but few go to make it work, they participate actively in the fellowship activities and be part of the making of the activities like being in various departments to make sure that things work. Fellowship is not once in a while thing but one that one has to be consistent in and comm...

CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT11

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT11* *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*.  *Acts 2:42*. Having seen what a doctrine is and since their continuation was to doctrine and fellowship let us now take a look at what fellowship is since the two go hand in hand in the worship of God  A fellowship in this context speaks of a Christian community where people of same faith and common interest meet to worship God, to hear his word and to encourage one another as they grow in holiness and love for God and for one another. A fellowship is also a community where believers in the same faith come together to advance the cause of God and to promote his kingdom. One of the major interests of a fellowship is to populate the kingdom of God and depopulate the kingdom of darkness by all means necessary. A fellowship is a community of believers that are set to pursue one single purpose which is eternal lif...

CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT10

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT10* *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*.  *Acts 2:42*. Having seen that they continued in the apostles doctrines and in fellowship let us now see what a doctrine is so as to know why they continued therein because they must have come to the understanding that it is worth continuing in. A doctrine is a set of truth that has been tested and seen to be coming from Jesus Himself and seen to be in line with Jesus life, death and resurrection. It is not something dreamed of or based on personal interpretation as it forms the belief on which the faith of the faithful has to be based on. A doctrines can be said to be the official and authoritave eachings of the church whose principles and origin is from either divine revelation or from Jesus Himself which the church has accepted because it is mostly derived from the scriptures it is usually meant to guide the...

CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT9

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT9* *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*.  *Acts 2:42*. Having continued steadfastly they continued in nothing else but in the apostles doctrines and fellowship but what of the word of the Lord? Why the apostles doctrine and not the doctrine of the Lord? Was the apostles glorifying themselves instead of God? The word "apostles doctrine" here refers to the whole truth of the scriptures, it is the teaching that guarantees salvation not some sort of enticing words that will make the people to be excited for a while and then become worse of hence the converts could continue steadfastly because they were edified. The apostles doctrine is Christ centered teaching that was handed over to the apostles by Christ Himself and there is no other person that would have done that better apart from those it was handed over to. The apostles doctrine was not ju...

CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT8

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT8* *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*.  *Acts 2:42* . To say that they continued means that they have weighed were they were and compared it to where they were told to be and found out that where they have been introduced to is better than where they were and so they opted for the better. To say that they continued means having found a better place then they choose to make a commitment to remain where they have found to be better than where they were so they decided to pledge or bind yourself to it. They continued because because they voluntarily made a long term dedication of their lives to achieve it by daily exercise and doing all in their power to succeed and succeed well and not just succeeding but supporting the fellowship to achieve her heavenly mandate. Wait a minute, how come all of them "continued" and steadfastly? You can see the...

CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT7

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT7* *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*.  *Acts 2:42* . Bro Peter told us that those that were baptised continued in the apostles doctrines and fellowship and you will agree with me that to continue in this line of life is not a joke, it requires efforts and resilience, it requires a mind made up to continue otherwise many things will discourage you from continuing. They faced the challenges that those that stopped faced but choose to continue because they realised that it can only take persistence to break resistance and so they choose to persist. They knew that even though the journey is far yet it is achievable  They continued because they knew that quitters never wins while winners never quits. It may be hard but achievable. They continued because it takes persistence to win the race. They continued because grace was sufficient, they choose to depe...

CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT6

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT6* *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*.  *Acts 2:42* . We are still looking at why they continued and by the help of the Holy Spirit we have seen quite a few and we will continue to see more as the spirit of the Lord leads us and i pray that it will make somebody to continue steadfastly in the Lord by the power in the name of Jesus. Amen!!! And so they "continued" because of the love of God that was seen and embraced and the love that they now embraced motivated them to persevere in the face all adversities because it is always very difficult to abandon the one you love. They "continued" because they know that God is too faithful to fail as such they were so convinced that victory is sure. *Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those...

CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT5

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT5* *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*.  *Acts 2:42* . To "continued" is not a sign of perfection but the pursuit of perfection. They understood that the only way to attain perfection is not to sit back and criticize what is good and what is bad hence they choose to continue to pursue perfection by all means and continued to do so. To "continued" does not in any way suggest that they didn't see any reason to go back or to give up on their faith but they choose to continue because they realized that the best things in life only happens to those that choose to persevere. They "continued" because going back was never an option, unthinkable and unimaginable for someone that intend s to win in the race of life, they knew that going back will amount to a waste of all the efforts that they have put up before giving up. They ...

CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT4

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT4* *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*.  *Acts 2:42* . We are still looking at what bro Peter told us about the three thousand converts that held the word of God and "continued" therein, the continued is a sign of progressive upward movement without looking back. It is possible that they did not understand all that they were taught but they continued so as to know more and grow thereby, you can see their continuing was for their own good and to the glory of God and the good of the church. They continued means that there were some that people taught will not go far. Do you know that they were some that people gave up on as far as salvation is concerned yet they continued and probably beat the expectations of their critics. They continued to carry on even when at times they fell, they refused to allow their fall define them but looked up to th...

CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT3

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT3* *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*.  *Acts 2:42* . Who is your king, is it Christ or the charm on your waist or the ring in your hand, what of that thing that you are hanging on your door post and in your house and even in your car? If Christ is your king like me have you made up your mind to follow him and continue to follow Him steadfastly? Making Christ the king of your life and family will cost you nothing but will bring you all good. As for me and my house Christ is our king and Him alone will remain our king and we will continue to follow Him steadfastly all the days our our lives. Remember that Christ does not need you and i to be king but we need Him especially His kingship to be princes so that we can rule all principalities and powers. May the grace of our Lord and king Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit b...

CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT2

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD PT2* *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*.  *Acts 2:42* . In the days of our fathers in the faith there was a song that was common in those days and the song goes like this I have decided to follow Jesus (3)🎵 🎵 🎵 🎶 🎶 🎶 no turning back, no turning back.  Jesus before me, the world behind me (3), 🎵 🎶 🎶 🎶 no turning back, no turning back. We will come back to steadfastly but before then let us take a look at what comes before the steadfast which is "continued" continues came before steadfast so let us treat it first and then come back to steadfast. Amen!!! Though steadfast and continued are almost the same but in this context they stood for different things. To "continues" means to be making progress in whatever one is doing and in this instance in fellowship and the apostles teaching. To "continues" means that their ...

CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *CONTINUE STEADFASTLY IN THE LORD* *And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*.  *Acts 2:42* . Can you see why the bible told us that the people that believed and were baptised were added and why we were led to know that their being added was not about number but about their contribution to the growth and development of the church and for the salvation of souls. Now having been baptised they continued and not just continued but steadfastly in the apostles teaching and fellowship. The bible was very clear in the choice of word here. Steadfastly not anyhow or as it pleases them and their steadfastness was to "teaching and fellowship" What does it mean to be steadfast? To be steadfast simply means to put all your effort in what you believe in so that apart from you making it work for you and through you, you will also never have any reason to retreat or surrender. To be steadfast is born...

BE AMONG THE SAVED PT5

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *BE AMONG THE SAVED PT5* *Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them*.  *Acts 2:41*. Bro Peter told us that about three thousand souls were not just won for the kingdom but that they were added to the church. What it means is that those souls were not just won but they added their usefulness to the growth of the church. The souls were not another addition of human beings but additionally workforce, additional collaboratiors in the work of salvation and addition of those that will spread the kingdom of God they were not just added they brought value to the church. They were believed to be added because they believed in what they were thought and the evidence was glaring which led them to know that they have made up their mind to follow Jesus wholeheartedly not believing today and doubting tomorrow  They were added because they did not creat additional burden to the body of Christ. They were added be...

BE AMONG THE SAVED PT4

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *BE AMONG THE SAVED PT4* *Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them*.  *Acts 2:41*. We have seen that the gift was not given to everybody but to those that were ready to receive the gift, let me quickly say it here that the gift is not the problem but those to receive the gift are the ones that are not available. The giver of the gift is willing to part with the gift but it must be done to only those that are ready and prepared to receive the gift and to make good use of the gift. It is always the receivers who usually judge themselves unworthy to receive the gift. For you to get the gift you must be in his presence. Yes you heard me, you must be in his presence because God will only give his gift to those that are present in his presence and i will tell you why. One of the reasons is that it will creat a relationship between you and the giver. The giver must be sure of whom he is giving the gift. ...

BE AMONG THE SAVED PT3*

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *BE AMONG THE SAVED PT3* *Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them*.  *Acts 2:41*. Bro Peter told us that those, meaning the ones that choose to receive and not just receive but received gladly were baptised. It follows that for them to receive what they received, it was done out of their own free will without being forced or coarse into receiving. You know that for you to receive there must must be willingness, no one can force you to receive what you don't want that is why not all of them that was there received it because others were not ready to receive. Secondly you must observe the gesture of the intending giver to see whether he or she is ready to give you the gift or he or she is doing what children will calls "longer longer" there must be a kind of relationship that tells that both of you are on the same page. Your gesture also matters a lot because the giver will also look ...

BE AMONG THE SAVED

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *BE AMONG THE SAVED* *Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them*.  *Acts 2:41*. The author of the Acts of the apostle bro Luke started this verse by telling us about "then". This then means that after they had been axhorted and testified to with many proves they went went ahead to do other things hence the "then". What made him talk of them? So let us take a look at the other things that they did. It was after then that he talked about "those" those here speaks of selection, what am saying here is that the those in this verse speaks of some people not all of them this was occasioned by freedom of choice. The good news was preached to them, proves and evidence to convince them was also given to them so that they will not be confused, all that they needed to know that was necessary for their salvation was provided but yet some refused to believe The truth of the matt...

YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT10* (CONCLUSION)

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT10* (CONCLUSION) *And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation*."  *Acts 2:40*. By way of conclusion we want to summarise this topic "you are not save until you are saved" so relax and enjoy what bro Peter told us in this verse. He startes by telling us that with many other words he testified and exhausted them. He started by saying "and" that and there stands for addition in other words what he was saying is that he has already told them so many other things that has to do with their salvation which he feels that it is necessary that they should know and having told them that he went ahead to add to it. The verse started with "and" which means that anything said in this verse is just an addendum to what has already been said and one of the many things that he has already said is that we must be baptised and be reconciled to God. ...

YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT9*

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT9* *And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation*."  *Acts 2:40*. If you take time to look at what bro Peter said here, you will notice that he did not say God will save you from this perversed generation or that God will send you helpers rather he said "be saved" Be saved here means that your salvation is in your hands, you either choose to be saved or not to be saved, what you are to be saved from has been given to you so the choice of whether to be saved or not is now in your hands. The first stage of this salvation is that you have to come to terms with bro Peter. You must first of all believe or know that you need this salvation because until you come to realize that you need this salvation you may not do anything about it. Secondly since you know what to be saved from you have to make efforts to be saved from it. Your efforts may include prayin...

YOU WILL FLOURISH

*LET US PRAY* *(PRAYER FOR THE WEEK)*. *YOU WILL FLOURISH*. *The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible]*.  *Ps.92.12(AMP)* What a mighty God we serve 🎵 🎵 🎶 🎶 what a mighty God we serve 🎵 🎵 🎶 heaven and earth adore Him, Angels bow before Him 🎵 🎵 🎶 what a mighty God we serve. Indeed what a great God we serve. The father of fathers and the greatest provider of all in need to Him alone be all the glory both now and forever by the power in the name of Jesus. Beloved i pray for you and with you that in this season and beyond that the God of glory will cause you to flourish like the palm tree, you will flourish on all sides and you will so flourish to the point that people will ask you "how come" by the power in the name of Jesus. In this season and beyond May you grow like the palm tree financially, I mean...

YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT8

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT8* *And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation*."  *Acts 2:40*. You will agree with me that the list of what makes this generation perversed cannot be exhausted such that the more we see the more we will continue to see to this effect we will try to round off today so as to have time to look at other things. The perverseness of this generation can also be seen in our lack of empathy. We care less about what happens to the next person or what they go through because of our actions and inactions. Today we cannot drive on a good road because somebody somewhere has decided to pocket the money. Today everybody wants to be a pastor and nobody cares to learn, we claim that we know it all and so we refuse to take corrections where and when necessary.and those that knows one or two end up in using it to exploit others. The list of what makes this generation perverse...

YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT7

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT7* *And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation*."  *Acts 2:40*. From what we have been seeing one will have no doubt or there is no gain saying that our generation is perversed and this perverseness permeant every nook and crany of our society and all of us are in involved in one way or the other. Our perverseness come in the following ways coupled with the ones that we have seen so far. It comes in the form of increased deliberate practice and sponsorship of evil in high levels in our society. People paying others to kill their fellow human beings. Before now people were used to robbery and armed robbery where the robbers can only take what you have at the time but now the devil agents now carry their victims to unknown destination and compel them to go as far as borrowing and some even to the point of selling their houses just to pay ransom. Should we cont...

YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT6

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT6* *And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation*."  *Acts 2:40*. Still talking about what makes a generation perverse, it is necessary that we look at it extensively so that we too can know where we belong to because as far as this issue of perverseness is concerned we are all involved in one way or the other and the earlier we choose to be saved from it the better for us all. Soddom and Gomorha were perversed in the sense that they were practicing lesbianism, homosexuality and all form of sexual immorality but that can never be compared to the kind that we are practicing in our day. In the days of bro Peter men were men and women remained women but in our day you can see a man today and the next day he is already a woman and we now promote the right of choose gender at will. Marriages in our day is now between Adam and Steve no longer eve or Ada and Eve. Tha...

YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT5

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT5* *And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation*."  *Acts 2:40*. I know that you will agree with me that there is no better time to say that a generation is perversed other than our generation because this generation is so perversed that many people are even blaming God on why we are still alive if He can destroy Soddom and Gomorha for their perverseness that cannot be compared to the perverseness of our generation. There is no generation that has lost moral and ethical values like our generation. A total deviation from guiding principles that govern human behavior and human existence. A generation that can do anything without minding at he effect on human existence.. A generation that is confused in morality, a generation that does not know what is right from what is wrong anymore. A generation that accepts evil as the new normal while the good are trashed ...

YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT4

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT4* *And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation*."  *Acts 2:40*. Am beginning to imagine what bro Peter would have said of our generation if he could call his generation a perversed generation because in his time the fear of the Lord was evident in the lives of the people at least to a reasonable extent. Come to think of it if his generation was called perversed what would he have called this generation where we take advantage of the next person to enrich ourselves no matter what it will cause the person affected  What could he have called our generation where a twelve years old child is talking of yahoo and yahoo plus? Where ritual killing floods everywhere and where people's destinies are traded to make it at all cost. What of those laughing at the expense others who are suffering from their actions and inactions? Those exploiting the poor because of t...

YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT3

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT3* *And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation*."  *Acts 2:40*. Having told us what we are to be saved from which he called "perverse generation" we tried to see what he meant by perverse generation and we were able to see some and today we will continue to see more. Amen!!! What are the things that bro Peter was talking about that makes or that made this generation a perverse generation? Remember that we said that one of end results of this perverseness is the hardening of the heart as we saw in our previous episode. Hardening of heart in biblical context is the abandoning anything and everything that has to do with God. It is the giving up on God and never wanting anything to do with God again. This hardening of the heart against the Lord can manifest in the way we think about God, how we relate with God, the actions that we take towards God and ...

DIVINE FAVOUR

*LET US PRAY* *(PRAYER FOR THE WEEK)*. *DIVINE FAVOUR*. *And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women*!"  *Luke.1.28*. How i wish i have the appropriate words to render my unreserved appreciation and thanks to this God that is so good, merciful and kind for all the good things that He has been doing and will continue to do for us without pay, merit or qualification. May His name alone be praised and glorified both now and forever by the power in the name of Jesus. Beloved i pray for you and with you that in this first working day of the week and month that the God that gives favour without measure will visit you today and cause you to be favoured beyond your imagination by the power in the name of Jesus  Am praying for the kind of favour that you have never seen or experienced in your life since you were born. The kind of favour that makes a nobody somebody, the kind of favour that changes ones posi...

YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT2*

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED PT2 *And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation*."  *Acts 2:40*. When bro Peter told us to be saved he did not end there but went ahead to tell us what we are to be saved from. It is more or less like giving you a problem and solution to the problem so that failure do the needful will not be held on him but on the person that refused to do the needful. Now let us see what it means to be "perversed" because that is what he said we should be saved from so that we can look at what and what to do to be able to be saved according to bro Peter. To be perversed is to deliberately and obstinately deviate from what is morally right and acceptable. To be perversed actually is to turn away from God's commandments and truth. To be perversed here simply means you saying that you don't need God that you are self sufficient forgetting that when you reject y...

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice!🎵 🎵 Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!🎵 🎵O come to the Father through Jesus the Son And give Him the glory great things He hath done🎵 🎵. Beloved, once again i thank God with you and for you for giving us another beautiful month and i congratulate you for the grace of God upon your life especially for making it to the beginning of another month may his name be praised both now and forever by the power in the name of Jesus Beloved, we serve a God of the eleventh hour and i pray for you and with you that no matter those that have left before you or what others have achieved before you as i pray for you and with you ma...

YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *YOU ARE NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SAVED* *And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation*."  *Acts 2:40*. Bro Peter told us that when we accept baptism that our sins will be forgiven and he went ahead to tell us that we will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and here we are told that he exhorted them with many testimonies and are privileged to know what he exhorted them on. "Be saved from this perverse generation*."  In other words our journey of salvation does not and cannot end when we accept baptism, it must continue until we are saved because we are not save until we are saved and what are we are to be saved from he calls it "perverse generation" which means that our salvation must start from the "now" What does it mean to be saved? To be saved means to be rescued from and impending danger or disaster. Another good definition of save is to make sure that nothing bad ...

BE SAVED

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *BE SAVED* *And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation*."  *Acts 2:40*. Before this verse bro Peter told us that we need to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus so that we can receive a gift from God which is the Holy Spirit. Having said that he went ahead to talk of "testified" Bro Luke the writer of the Acts of bro Peter is making us to understand that all these are not just mere words but that there is a proof to that effect and this proves are not just one but many. He calls it it testimony. A testimony is meant to serve as evidence or proof that something exists or is real. A testimony speaks of evidence to proof the authenticity of what has been said or alleged. What it means therefore is that if you are looking for evidence to believe that you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit after receiving baptism you have to look at the lives of those who are making the claim or t...

PROMISE MADE PROMISE KEPT PT9

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *PROMISE MADE PROMISE KEPT PT9* *Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call*." *Acts 2:38-39*. By way of summary we have seen that the promise we will receive after baptism is a free gift not paid for because there is no way we can pay for it no matter how rich we are and even the baptism also is a free gift from our loving Father. And this free gift according to bro Peter is the person of the Holy Spirit and He is given so cheaply because He has been promised and we are witnesses that this promise made has been a promise kept. Another good news here is that this promise is not for us alone but for us and our children can you imagine how good this wonderful God is? Giving us a promise and making it generational. Th...

PROMISE MADE PROMISE KEPT PT8

*FAITH NUGGETS*  *PROMISE MADE PROMISE KEPT PT8* *Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
