*And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation*." 
*Acts 2:40*.

Before this verse bro Peter told us that we need to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus so that we can receive a gift from God which is the Holy Spirit. Having said that he went ahead to talk of "testified"

Bro Luke the writer of the Acts of bro Peter is making us to understand that all these are not just mere words but that there is a proof to that effect and this proves are not just one but many. He calls it it testimony.

A testimony is meant to serve as evidence or proof that something exists or is real. A testimony speaks of evidence to proof the authenticity of what has been said or alleged.

What it means therefore is that if you are looking for evidence to believe that you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit after receiving baptism you have to look at the lives of those who are making the claim or those who have received the baptism already.

Bro Peter did not just show them proves but he still went ahead to exhort them so that God will continue to exalt them knowing full well that if he does not do that the devil will eventually exhaust them.

I pray for you and with you that at the end of this year that you and every member of your family will not be resting in peace but will be part of those celebrating the goodness of the Lord by the power in the name of Jesus.
