*PROMISE MADE PROMISE KEPT*

*Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call*."
*Acts 2:38-39*.

Having told us to be baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus that it will guarantee a gift of the Holy Spirit from God bro Peter went ahead to tell us that this is a promise and that the beauty of this promise is that it must be kept.

Apart from the keeping of the promise bro Peter also told us that this promise is not for us alone but that this promise is generational in order words we own it a duty to make sure that the promises does not end with us but transmit same to our next generation.

Having said this let us now take a look at what a promise is. A promise is like a cheque written and signed in ones name waiting for you to go and cash it. In order words you have a part to play to bring any promise to pass.

In as much as a promise is a commitment to fulfill the stated action or condition. It is expected that we cooperate with the one that made the promise in order to bring the promise to fruition.

Therefore a promise needs the commitment of both the one that made the promise and the one to whom the promise is made. Our commitment to the promise is to make sure that the promise comes to pass and to pass the promise to our next generation.

I pray for you and with you that those waiting to hear bad news concerning you in this season so that they can come to comeserate with you will wait till eternity by the power in the name of Jesus

LET US PRAY* *HE HAS RISEN* *Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee*, *Lk 24:5-6*. Jesus conquered sin. He conquered the grave.
