*OBEDIENCE IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE*

*And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, "you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now*." 
*Acts 1:4-5*.

It was Jesus Himself that assembled them together and he did not assemble without Him been part of the meeting so He assembled them and was part of them because where two or three are gathered in His name whether he was the one that gathered them or they gathered themselves He will always be there in fulfilment of His word.

From the account of bro Luke we can see how Jesus places priority in our gathering and how he did everything in His power to make sure that we are gathered. In His departure prayer He prayed that all may be one and later in this account bro Luke told us that all of them gathered together in one accord which that Jesus did not just pray but worked it out.
*That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me*. *Jn 17:21*.

While they were waiting with great expectations they were not folding their hands rather they were soaked in prayer. Hear me child of God. Any expectation that is not backed up with prayers is nothing but an exercise in futility because while waiting we must let God know that you are waiting in the place of prayers.

Another ingredient of waiting apart from prayer is positive lifestyle. You cannot tell God that you are waiting on him while your lifestyle tells him another thing. Your waiting must reflect in your character as action they say speaks louder than words.

Their obedience to His command matters so much, He told them to wait in Jerusalem and they all waited in Jerusalem, it is not all of them that liked the leadership of Peter but they waited, it is not all of them that liked the attitude of John but they waited anyway. They waited not because Peter was the leader or that they have no choice but they all waited in obedience to their master because obedience is better than sacrifice.

I pray for you and with you that anyone, powers or kingdoms trying hard to bring you down from your high place may the covenant keeping God of Abraham use them as a ladder for you to go higher by the power in the name of Jesus.
