*MAKE PRAYER AND FELLOWSHIP A HABIT PT5*
*And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there. Acts 16:13*.
We were told that they prayed customarily which makes one to begin to ask certain questions like. What makes prayer so important that they must pray and not just pray but make it a custom? Today we we will be looking at prayer and why it is very important in our lives.
First and foremost what is prayer?
For me as a person not as an authority I would like to define prayer thus.
Prayer is the believe in the existence of God and His almightiness and the willingness to submit to his Lordship and trust in His ability to provide whatever you can ask for or desire from him and believing that He will do it.
The catechism of the Catholic Church defines prayer as the lifting up of our hearts and mind towards God.
Prayer a belief in the personality and supremacy of God, his ability and willingness to have a relationship with us, His personal control of all things and of all His creatures and all their actions.
Wherever we are talking about prayer we are talking of having an intercourse with our father, having a one on one relationship with our father. Prayer is not a monologue but a dialogue.
In prayer divinity meets humanity in her weaknesses and uplifts her to the realm of the supernatural. Weaknesses are turned to strength and needs meet provision beyound imagination in the place of prayer.
In prayer we meet God empty and we go home filled. In prayer we meet God the way we are but not leave the way we came. In fact prayer is a point of transformation. Above all in prayer we recognise and acknowledge the fatherhood of God over us His children.
Do you pray? How often do you pray? And how do you pray? Remember that "men always ought to pray and not lose heart, " Lk 18:1.
I pray for you today that Christ the universal king and the king of kings will bless you, bless your work, bless your family and everything that belongs to you and make you a blessing in Jesus name Amen.
Good day beloved. Your Sunday is blessed more than you can ever think of or imagined. Peace be with you.
To all of us celebrating anything today this is wishing you the best.
