*SPIRITUAL CHECK UP PT7*

*And as they went through the cities, they delivered to them the decrees to keep, which were determined by the apostles and elders at Jerusalem. So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily*. 
*Acts 16:4-5*.

Yesterday i thought that we have concluded the topic "spiritual check up" due to the fact that in our reflections on spiritual check up we treated so many reasons why we need to make spiritual check up and why we need spiritual check up.

Today St Luke himself is giving us the reasons why St Paul and St Barnabas made that trip.

1. Is to deliver the decrees that they need to keep.
What is a decree. A decree is a predetermined purpose of God. And he added that this decrees were from men not God. Which means that there are people bestowed with the responsibility of telling the mind of God.

This is the reason why we are denominating ourselves after God has nominated us to be members of his(one) own family. It is either we don't like the person that said it, the way it was said or that it does not agree with our own way of life.

2. To strengthen them in their faith. Faith is something that is not static and St Paul will tell us that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Which means that the more they visit and speak the word of God to them the more their faith was strengthened.

In the light of that i can personally say also that faith goes(departs) by hearing as well but this time hearing what is not the word of God or does not glorify God.

It is only when our faith is strengthened that we can live it out and people can then see it and come to join us in worshipping our God thereby bringing growth to the body of Christ.

I pray for you today that your faith be strengthened and that any error that wants to cost you your faith be rooted out of your life and by the reason of your faith may every mountain in your life and on your way melt now in the name of Jesus. Amen.
