*HE WAS CUNNING*

*Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, "You shall not eat of every tree of the garden*'?" 
*Gen.3.1*

The author of the book of beginning(Genesis) giving us the story of creation started chapter three with a not too good introduction by how the subject was introduced. He told us that there was a serpent and that this serpent was more cunning than all other beasts of the Field.

 He introduced the devil as a serpent and the very nature of the devil in the form of a serpent. He says that the serpent was more cunning than other beasts because it does not look like the other beasts in the field.

It would have been enough for the beast to be cunning but this one went further to be more cunning in other words efforts were made to make sure that man was deceived without man noticing it and most importantly getting man's cooperation because he cannot succeed without man's cooperation.

Here the writer of the book of the beginning(Genesis) shows us how the devil used the serpent to deceive man with subtlety, He didn't come roaring. He didn't come with the position of a liar or a deceit but came to make Adam and Eve to question the integrity of God.

Check out how he started, "did God really say?" Meaning are you trusting what God said? If God is real why is it that bad people enjoy and good people suffer? If God really needs to be trusted why are we suffering? If Jesus is a father as He claimed why are we not been provided for as at when due? Is God really real? If God said it can he make it good?
