*He must increase, but I must decrease. [He must grow more prominent; I must grow less so. He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all*. 
*Jn 3:30-31*.

We must take a critical look at what Uncle John the Baptist said about Jesus increasing and himself decreasing because it is not normal for a man to wake up and make that kind of statement especially when it was Uncle John that baptised Him. Let me put it in a way the you will understand. He started ministry from Uncle John.

For Uncle John the Baptist to make that kind of open statement in an open space and to his disciples whom he lost because of that statement there must be something behind it and that we must find out because we want to "follow who know road"

Like we said earlier, when you learn from someone who have walked the road that you are walking it only makes the journey easy because most of your doubts and confusion will be diffused. That statement from Uncle John was born out of understanding of purpose.

Uncle John the Baptist knew from the moment that he baptised Jesus that his purpose has been fulfilled. He knew his mission clearly and was out to fulfill it and having done that he felt that it as time or him to leave the stage for the owner of the stage.

Another thing with Uncle John the Baptist was that he knew that it was not necessary to strive with Jesus because both of them are not in competition but as partners in progress that they have to compliment one another and not compete with one another.
