Jesus was very specific here about water and the spirit so we are going to try our best to see why He choose to use water or why he said that it must be water. Let me start by saying that from creation that water has been playing a very significant role in the economy of salvation and we are going to see quite a few of them.

When man fell out of grace immediately after creation we were made to understand that God regretted creating man and decided to end everything to have His rest but being a just God He could not deal with righteous what was meant for the disobedient ones so he decided to make a separation between the good and the bad by using water.

He used water to safe Noah and his family and at the same time uses water to destroy the evil ones, we can say that Noah and his household passed through water to a new life while the others that failed to repent by heeding God's call to repentance perished in the water.

At baptism our sins are made to perish in the water, the flood of water flows them away while we are washed with the same water, we are made new with the water while what contaminated is which is sin is allowed to sink in water. We have said it severally that sin sinks but baptism saves us from sinking with the sin.

It is like bathing a little child that just returned from the mod with a clean water and afterwards take the clean and new baby in and throwing the dirty water away. When we submit ourselves for baptism, our sins are been washed away and we become a new creation hence it is said that we are born again.

O pray for you and with you that whatever your hands finds to do that God will multiply it and make you prosperous through it by the power in the name of Jesus.
