*FOOD FOR THOUGHT* 

"I left church, but did not leave God." are the words of so many that stopped going to church and their reason most times is that people in the church do many terrible things, the church has become a hiding place for evil doers, people go to church to avoid swearing and so do evil at will.

The big question Is, is it possible to leave church and not leave God? "How is that possible?" Though they claim that people in the church do terrible things but the big question is : "Are they perfect?" And their answers are usually; " I am still better than them even though I don't go to church." how did you know that you are better than the others? What are the parameters for your judgement?

*TAKE A LOOK AT THIS*!!!

*I have not come to arouse and invite and call the righteous, but the erring ones (those not free from sin) to repentance [to change their minds for the better and heartily to amend their ways, with abhorrence of their past sins*]. *Luke.5.32* (AMP)

Church was never meant for perfect people. If it were, no one would be qualified. The Church is a place for sinners who know they need grace, healing, correction, and growth who earnestly try their best to have a change of heart and attitude and even when it seems impossible they continue to try.

Is it possible to say; "I have left the fire, but I am still warm." "How is that possible ?" He may say, "I took a burning coal from the fire and walked away. The fire is no longer necessary." how long will that burning coal going to sustain you or how long is that coal going to last?

At first, the coal will still be hot.It will still give light. It will still look alive. But with time, the warmth will fade. The light will go out. The coal will become cold. The truth will become clear: You can not stay warm when you separate yourself from the fire. This is the danger of saying " l left church but not God "

God is the source, yes, but the Church is where the fire is kept burning: where the Word is taught
where faith is strengthened where believers sharpen one another.
You may still pray for a while. You may still feel close to God 
 for some time. But God did not
design faith to survive in isolation. 

Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with a merciful and loving father that keeps calling us into a body, a family, a community where He can be in our midst and where he can heal and transform us.

*For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I Am in the midst of them*. *Matt.18.20*(AMP)

Leaving the Church because of people's attitudes does not mean you chose God, it often means you were focused on people in the first place not God. People will fail, People will disappoint. But Christ remains faithful. 

*Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God*. *Heb.12.2* (AMP)
*We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterward. Now he is seated in the place of highest honor beside God's throne in heaven*. *Heb.12.2* (NLT)

Unfortunately many of this our brothers and sisters have not left Nigeria because of the kind of politicians that we have, they have not left their association where there are been fined and insulted, but will easily leave the church for one reason or the other.

*LET US PRAY*

1 Lord, as i begin to pray help me not to loose my faith in Jesus name.

2 Lord, give me the grace to be focused on you alone in the name of Jesus.

3 Lord, may the enemies of my faith not succeed in pulling me down in Jesus name.

4 Lord, give me the grace to be united with you in life and death in Jesus name 

5 Lord, increase my faith in you in Jesus name.
