*And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers*. 
*Acts 2:42*.

Bro James told us that when we hear the word of God and do nothing about it that we are just deceiving ourselves which means that for us to be called believers we must hear and act on what we believe.
*But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth]. For if anyone only listens to the Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, he is like a man who looks carefully at his [own] natural face in a mirror*; 
*Jas.1.22 - 23*.

It is our obedience to the word of God that will tell whether we have actually heard the word of God or not. Have you ever wondered why a particular book in the scriptures is called the "Acts of the apostles" and not the Acts of God?

The apostles heard the word of God and put into practice what they heard and because of that a particular book was dedicated to them in the same manner you and i are expected to act on the word of God that we hear so that we can be part of the apostles.

The believers that we are talking about since emulated the apostles, they heard the word of God and went ahead to do all that is required of them to be part of the apostles, they followed steadfastly to the apostles doctrines because that is what it takes to be part of the apostles.

I pray for you and with you that in this season that your ears will not hear bad news from everyone around you by the power in the name of Jesus.
