*REPENT AND BE BAPTISED PT6*

*Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit*.
*Acts 2:38*.

We have been looking at baptism and how it should be done, bro Peter speaking told his audience that it must be done in the name of Jesus, that the formula for doing it is "the name of Jesus" because Jesus is the source and summit of it all 

Today we will be look at why we need the formula since we can jump into water and claim to be baptised or do it any other way to suite or please us in as far as water is involved.

We must know that baptism is not our making but the creation of Jesus and as such it should be done the way the creator wants it done. It is not done to please anybody but the creator so the pattern set by the creator should be followed accordingly.

The pattern must be followed so as to avoid human errors because if there is no pattern we may want to do it in our own way which will definitely lead to variations which leads to errors in the application.

If there is no pattern or formula we may be repeating it once and again because you may not be sure of the genuineness of the application and so may want to do it again and again to be sure.

I pray for you and with you that anyone or powers working to make sure that you embark on a journey of "no return" will labour in vain by the power in the name of Jesus
