*REPENT AND BE BAPTISED PT5*

*Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit*.
*Acts 2:38*.


Still looking at been baptised in the name of Jesus Christ and having said that baptism makes us one with Christ let us now proceed to see what St Paul will tell us that baptism does to you and me.

*Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new*. *1Cor 5:17*.
Remember that we said that the moment that we get baptised that we become one with Christ by reason of our baptism here St Paul tells us what the oneness is all about(it makes us new creation)

One of the things that baptism does as far as st Paul is concerned is that it will first of all make you a new creation, a new being like a new born baby where you have to start life afresh. He says that all your past life will pass away and you will become new person.

Baptism incorporates us into Christ and to be in Christ simply means to have an intimate union with Jesus which leads to a transformed identity as a new creation, it is all about the the forgiveness of ones sins before baptism and giving one a new slate to start again.

This union means that God sees the believer not in their own imperfect state, but through Christ's righteousness, and that the believer shares in Christ's victory over sin and death. It guarantees forgiveness of sins, freedom from condemnation, and an eternal future with God.

I pray for you and with you that from now that your life will be transformed to be moving from glory to glory by the power in the name of Jesus.
