*REPENT AND BE BAPTISED PT5*

*Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit*.
*Acts 2:38*.

Now having talked about baptism bro Peter went ahead to tell them how it should be done. You can see that Christianity is so organised in such a way that it is progressive. You don't remain in a state except you don't want to grow. There is no static position in Christianity.

Now it is not about being baptised because anybody can pour water or dive into the river and claim to be baptised but there is a way that it must be done for it to be baptism indeed and the way is that it must be done in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Why do you have to be baptised "in the name of Jesus"? You have to be baptised in the name of Jesus in order to immersed into Christ, so as to be united in Christ so that you can become one with Christ one with all that is in Christ.

To be baptised in the name of Jesus is to submit to the finished work of Calvary, to share in the salvation mission of Christ. To enjoy the full benefit, and to begin to walk in Christ and to have a relationship with Him.

To be baptised in Christ means to subscribe to a change of life from who one used to be and the one Christ wants him to be. It means accepting the Lordship of Jesus over all that one has and will have and will be. It is agreeing to total transformation of body, soul and spirit of oneself into the image and likeness of Christ.

I pray for you and with you that this year will never see your end but that you will live to see the end of this year by the power in the name of Jesus.
