*REPENT AND BE BAPTISED PT13*

*Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit*.
*Acts 2:38*.

Bro Peter calls the giving of the Holy Spirit a gift and you and i knows that a gift is not a gift until it is received and how you position yourself to receive the gift matter a lot. It will go a long way whether to hand over the gift to you or to retrieve the gift.

Another thing that characterises the given of a gift is the generosity of the giver. Do you know that a generous man is different from a rich man. The status of any man does not in anyway speak of his giving ability. A man may have everything to give but is stingy and a man may not have much but has a generous heart and share even from the little that he or she has.

What if the giver is such a rich and generous man that does not mind what he gives? I mean so generous and so kind and so merciful at the same time? Child of God you will expect so much from Him especially when you know that the more He gives the richer he becomes.

Such is our God in the beauty of His holiness. Our God is not so merciful, kind and generous but he is also love personified such that He can give even up to His only begotten son such that St Paul will ask "if God can give us his only begotten son, what is it that He cannot give us"?

Hence when he was praying for the Philippian church because he understood the nature of God and how good He is in giving he prayed for the Corinthian church that God will bless them not according to their mindset but according to God's own riches in glory. Can you imagine that description.

In life no man so rich that he does not need anything from anyone and no man is so poor that he does not have anything to give but God is so rich that he does not need anything from man and he can never be poor to demand anything from man.

I pray for you and with you that the God of glory will bless you not according to your heart desire but according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus our Lord by the power in the name of Jesus.
