*BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT PT7*

*And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance*.
*Acts 2:4*.


We have seen that divine equipment is for mission hence all not some of them were filled with the Holy Spirit because all has been called, chosen and are about to be sent out. Today we want to visit Uncle Peter to hear his own side of the story about his understanding of the "being filled with the Holy Spirit"

*But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, "Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.  But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved*.' *Acts 2:14-21*.

As far as bro peter was concerned not few were called and chosen to be sent but all because according to him God has spoken through prophet Joel that the outpouring of the spirit is for all men not some men and if so all should be ready to be an instrument of communicating the kingdom but before going out we must first of all teach ourselves first.

From Uncle Peter account which was a prophecy that was given by prophet Joel in the prophecy of Joel God had foretold his people about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Why? Because God does not do anything without first and foremost telling his prophets.
*Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets*. *Amos 3:7*.

Prophets are channels through which God communicates His intentions to His people. Prophets are not called to be God or to replace God but to be an instrument in the hands of God.

Apart from the impartation of power on the recipients of the Holy Spirit the outpouring of the Holy Spirit was a fulfilment of the promise of God to his people. No wonder He is called promise keeping God.

One of the principal mission of the Holy Spirit is to help people to be able to name the name of the Lord by helping us them call him *Abba father" in other words the Holy Spirit is to help us to come to the knowledge of who our God really is by having a personal knowledge and understanding of Him not by hear say but by a personal encounter.

I pray for you and with you that the God of all grace will empower you as you journey in this walk of faith so that heaven will be your goal by the power in the life of Jesus.
