*BROKEN FOR A REASON*


*In the evening He came with the twelve. Now as they sat and ate, Jesus said, "Assuredly, I say to you, one of you who eats with Me will betray Me." And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them and said, "Take, eat; this is My body*."
*Mk 14:17-18,22*.


The time was evening and the occasion was super and it was a moment of show of love as Jesus showed how much he loved and cared for his apostles and so Jesus gathered his apostles and began to do what they never expected.

Jesus uses every available opportunity to teach his disciples about one thing or the other because a well informed man is a well transformed man. In this context he was using the family bond to teach them something very important. A table is a place were love is shared and some secret are revealed at table especial truths that others may not be able to get. A table is for members of the inner caucus.

In this forum Jesus was not just done teaching them but went ahead to give them Himself in other words he wants to give them everything so that they will not lack anything after teaching them on how to labour for spiritual food he now came down to his family to give them that spiritual food.

Adam and Eve ate of the tree and they died and here is Jesus giving us another kind of food this time his own body and blood so that we will live can you imagine that level of love?

One significant thing that happened on that table that i want to bring to your notice is the fact that the bread was broken. Yes you heard me, i said"the bread was broken" why? you may ask and i will tell you that the reason is to make sure that it goes round. Yes, so that all of us can have a share in the body of Jesus but on one condition sir! You must come to the table(have a relationship with Jesus) because it is a family thing.


I pray for you and with you that as you celebrate Holy Thursday today that you will live to celebrate many more Holy Thursdays by the power in the name of Jesus.
