*CHARACTER BETRAYS PT9* 

*Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden*'?" 
*Gen 3:1*

By the grace of God we have been led to see how the serpent and madam Eve went and we have seen so far how the serpent caught madam Eve's attention and then letter made her curious by trying to make her believe that there are things God did not telling her and from there we saw that another tool that it uses against madam Eve was distraction.

Another instrument that the serpent used also is also known as the external influence. Many a time we allow people who are not supposed to be in our space and our life to come near or rule us because we are most times afraid of what people will say.

Most times we are influenced by the environment in which we find ourselves. We want to explore our environment, we want to know what is new and why certain things are the way they are but most importantly we want to compete with others either by believing that they have more than us or that what they have is better than ours.

Apart from believing that others have more than we do or that we prefer what others have to what we have another problem of external influence is that most times we want to impress others, we want to show off even if nobody cares about what we are doing we just want to make am impression.

The serpent made madam Eve to believe that it has something important that madam Eve may be interested in and it was able to convince her in that light and as such madam Eve abandoned what she has and began to seek what the serpent had to offer. Most times in life we go for what we want not what we need and at the end all that becomes a waste because we don't need them we only want them.

I pray for you and with you that like Reuben your life will not be unstable like water but that you will be stable in all things so that whatever you do you shall prosper by the power in the name of Jesus.
