*CHARACTER BETRAYS PT11* 

*Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden*'?" 
*Gen 3:1*


The other day we discussed with bro John the beloved and he told us that there are three things that are in the world (the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life) and this three things from what we saw was what the serpent introduced to madam Eve and she fell for it and that has led all of us to where we are right now.


Today we will be looking at the last one there which is the pride of life. Have you not heard that 
*Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall*. Prov 16:18.
So one of the major instruments of falling great men is called pride and haughty spirit, now let us hear what bro James have to tell us about pride.


*Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble*." *1Pet 5:5*.


Can you see how the serpent set madam Eve against God? Now what is pride.
Pride simply means Inordinate self esteem; an unreasonable conceit of one's own superiority in talents, beauty, wealth, accomplishments, rank or elevation in office, which manifests itself in lofty airs, distancing oneself from others, Being reserved, and most times in contempt of others.

The pride of life is when nothing matters to you apart from yourself, the pride of life is when you have to go all out to get what you want irrespective of whose ox is gored, the pride of life is when you think that you are better than everyone else and nobody should get anything apart from you. The pride of life is when you see yourself as the only one that deserves it.

Remember that even the tree of life that madam Eve and her husband was asked not to eat was still under their control 
*And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food*. *Gen 1:29*.

Yes, madam Eve was looking for what she has already, she was shi for what was under her control, whether she was asked to eat it or not the fact that it was under her control means that she can do anything with anytime any day so what act as though you are under punishment for not eating it?


You not touching maybe that it is not for food but for herb and you do take herbs anyhow, you not touching it may mean that you need the seeds to make a forest but madam Eve refused to listen. Can you imagine somebody having a curb of corn and instead of keeping it to have a garden of corn then chooses to eat it what will become of that person? Since then we have never heard of the tree again because maybe madam Eve ate the only seed that the tree needed to make more trees.

I pray for you and with you that you will have the capacity to do the will of God against all odds by the power in the name of Jesus.
