*YOU NEED REST PT7*

*Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made*. 

*Gen 2:1-3*.

Remember that God created man and kept him in the garden of Eden, a place where He can come and fellowship with him but man lost that due to pride and ignorance.

*The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed*. *Gen 2:8*.

Having lost that God gave man that commandment to keep the Sabbath holy to him because God is still interested in having a one on one relationship with man and so He gave him a commandment to keep the Sabbath so as to have fellowship with him once again.

"*Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy*. *Ex 20:8*.

The seventh day now becomes a day when the children of God can gather together in fellowship with one another and in fellowship with God 

*When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place*. *Acts 2:1*

This is what God expects of you and i, he expects all believers to be together in one accord and in one place where brotherly love is the other of the day.(Eden) and since we cannot be in Eden anymore the only way we can then be together in one accord is the church which is the family of God hence we are called to keep it so as to have time to be together with one another and with God.

Because God is interested in visiting his people as he used to visit Adam and Eve in the garden, the church has now become a new garden of Eden where God can come to visit His people so that whenever God comes visiting He can have fellowship with His people unlike adam and wve that ran away drom his presence.

*And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden*. *Gen 3:8*.

Hence we are admonished not forsake the assembly of the saints because the day that you may be absent may be the day of your personal visitation may occur..

*Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching*. *Heb 10:24*.

Even Jesus had the custom of visiting God in the temple as a way of setting example to you and i that we should not just keep the Sabbath holy by abstaining from work but also by being in the presence of God.

*So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read*. *Lk 4:16*.

I pray for you that from now that you will begin to have a daily encounter with God that will make you a better person and a better Christian in Jesus name Amen.
