WHY GOOD FRIDAY?

*So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "it is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit*. 
*Jn 19:30*by.

There is this controversy about calling good Friday a good Friday when actually it is supposed to be called a bad Friday.

I have sat with men of authority and they have taught me that the reason for the good in the Friday is because of what Jesus accomplished through His death and not about how he died.

I want to be as brief as i can because i don't want to have this message in parts. The tree was used to bring about man's downfall.
*So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate*. *Gen 3:1-10*.

Because of this singular act man was cursed.
*Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree")*, *Gal 3:13*.

The tree was also used as a trap for Jesus since He refused to turn stones to bread perhaps he could command the tree to bear fruit but instead he cursed the tree knowing full well the trap set for Him.
*In response Jesus said to it, "Let no one eat fruit from you ever again." And His disciples heard it*. *Mk 11:12-20*.

You can see how the tree became a source of curse and so Jesus hanging on the tree destroyed the curse and released the blessings. It became a good tree(cross) that the saints can rely on, a noble tree beyond compare!. He smoothen the roughness(curse) that was on the tree.
*And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life*. *Jn 3:14-15*.
The son of man was lifted on the tree(cross)

Take a look at this!
*And the devil said to Him, "All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish*. *Lk 4:6*.
The devil took dominion because of man's fall but when Jesus defeated him on the tree(cross) through which he took it in the first place he said.
*And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth*. *Math 28:18*.

Can you now see why it is called good Friday? It is a day of redemption. A day of freedom from the captivity of the devil. A day of recovery of all that the devil stole from man. A day that removed curse from our lives and released the blessings. It is indeed a good Friday.

I pray for you that you will enjoy the full benefits of all that Chris died for in all areas of your life in the name of Jesus. Amen.
