*BEGIN WITH GOD PT6*

*And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day*. 

*Gen 1:4-5*.

On Sunday we saw how God separated what He wanted from what He did not want and we said that in this year 2024 that it is necessary that we separate what we want from what we don't want and today we will continue from there. Amen!!!

We saw that after separating what he wanted from what He did not want that He gave them names. What was good God called light and the other He called darkness. Why did He give them names? For easy identification.

Names helps to call what you want from what you don't want. So that you know what you are calling and you know what to expect so that you don't call or mean to see something and another answers, it doesn't make sense.

What are you calling those things that you want? Or are you using names to confuse yourself? Many in our world today has given good names to bad things inorder to make it sellable.

Today a prostitute don't want to call it prostitution rather he or she prefers to call it hook up. Don't you know that something that is hooked up will end up dying? So why dying and still celebrate it?

Many thieves now call it "achievement" the question is what are you achieving? Is that your definition of achievement? If others achieve your own will you be happy? What others suffered to get you are taking away calling it achievement.

The only reason why you are trying to give it a good name is because you are ashamed of what you are doing but giving it a name is not the solution but seeing it and treating the way it should.

I pray for you today that anyone waiting bad things to happen to you for them to come and sympathise with you in this year will be disappointed on the name of Jesus.

*OUR BEGINNING OF THE YEAR PROGRAME*.

By way of encouraging ourselves to start the year with God we started a prayer and fasting programme to enable us to wait on God and we outlined the following as a guide.

1. Start with prayer and fasting. It may be for 7, 21 or 40 days with fasting lasting as much as 6:00am to 12:00, 03:00, or 06:00pm.

 

2. Choose the one that will be convinient for you. The most important thing here is consistency and total commitment to do it well and to the glory of God.

3. Make sure that you are not doing it to please any man or under duress or compulsion or as a ritual.

4. Read the bible as much as you can not as a literature but with some level of reflection.

5. Try to go through this reflection daily as it will help in your spiritual growth. And God helping me I will be dropping some prayer point as well.

6. Pray the prayer points and don't just read them please.

It is my earnest desire that we continue to grow in the Lord until we all grow to full maturity in Christ.

*PRAYER POINTS FOR OUR PROGRAMME TO START THE YEAR*

1. Lord, as i begin to pray, i return all the glory to you for the gift of this beautiful day in the name of Jesus.

2. Lord, as i begin to pray help me to kiss those that i need to kiss and to meet those that i need to meet in the name of Jesus.

3. Lord, give me the grace to separate from occasions that lead me to sin in Jesus name.

4. Lord, as i begin to pray commission your Angels to lead me to places of honour in this year in Jesus name.

5. Lord, in this year may i not be in the right place at the wrong time or the wrong place at the right time in the name of Jesus.
