*DARE TO STAND OUT PT8*

*Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul. And when she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay." So she persuaded us*.  
*Acts 16:14:15*.

As we continue to study the Acts of sis Lydia let us remind ourselves that we said that sis Lydia worshipped the Lord because she loved the Lord. We also said that the love was born out of knowledge of who the Lord is and we went further to say that there is no way she would have been able to do that without personally been convinced about the person of Jesus.

Today we will be looking at what birthed her been convinced and it is called encounter. This is one area where many of us are lagging behind. This is one thing that many of us talk about but but don't go after it or pursue.

To encounter God is to have a personal knowledge of who he is. To encounter God is to take God out if the bible and make Him real in your life.

Encounters can make one go fanatical about God. Encounters can make one sell everything just to have Jesus. Encounters makes one to jettison everything just to have a place in Jesus.

When you encounter Jesus, sin will nolonger make meaning to you. When you encounter Jesus nobody tells you about Him anymore. When you encounter Jesus the urge to sin dies. When you encounter Jesus holiness becomes your pursuit. When you encounter Jesus His word begins to make meaning to you as you see a real prophecy in the word. When you encounter Jesus the more you love Him the more you would want to love Him.

You don't encounter Jesus in seeking for miracles. No. You can only encounter Jesus when you seek and desire to know Him the more, when you grow in love with His word. When you are desirous to love Him that is when you encounter Jesus.

Have you encountered Jesus? Do you desire to encounter Him? How do you intend to achieve that? And what is your purpose of wanting to encounter Him. Remember that it is better to have the miracle worker than to have the miracle.

I pray for you today that you will have and encounter with Jesus that will transform your life for good and grant you access to open heaven in Jesus name Amen.
