*DARE TO STAND OUT PT2*

*Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul. And when she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay." So she persuaded us*.  
*Acts 16:14:15*.

The book of the Acts of the apostles is one book in the bible that was never concluded. It ended thus "preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one forbidding him". It means that you and i have been given the opportunity to preach and teach about the kingdom without anyone forbidding us.

The book of Acts of the apostles gave everybody the opportunity to act as an apostle to this end on Sunday we started looking at the Acts of sis Lydia and how she used her work to glorify the name of the Lord and today we will continue from there.

The bible starting by saying "heard us." She was part of the people preached to. She was one of them that sat down to hear the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. She was so engrossed in the message that it was observed that she heard them.

Apart from been engrossed in the teaching another thing that made them to know that she heard them was her practice of what she heard. Inorder words Her hearing was known by her putting what she heard into action.

This buttresses the fact that she did not go there like any other person. No she did not go there as usual. No she went there with an intent and determination to hear and to practice what she heard.

She did not sit down to see how good this people could preach, she did sit down to listen to their command of English. She did not sit down to observe the clothes of the preachers.

Do you realise that the apostles did not notify them that they were coming and that the apostles were not their regular preacher? They just met them and preached to them and she took it to heart. It means that she was not a selector of preacher. It means that she is interested in the message not the messenger.

Do you love the word of God? How much love do you have for it? How much you love the word of God will determine how much you care to listen to it, go for it and how much you will practice what is there. Remember that the love for God is expressed in keeping His commandments.

I pray for you today that God will continue to reign in your life, family and business and that any power that would want to claim authority over your life or anything that belongs to you will meet the wrath of God in Jesus name Amen.
