*MAKE PRAYER AND FELLOWSHIP A HABIT PT7*

*And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there. Acts 16:13*.

On Sunday we looked at the the importance of prayer and today we want to go further into the life and activities of these people that they met at the waterside.

The another thing that is worth looking into apart from the fact that they prayed and made it a custom the next thing that happened was that they sat down to teach them the word.

They were not gathering for gathering sake but for a purpose, Sitting down speaks of welcoming the message, sitting down is a sign of a waiting for the move of the Holy Spirit, it speaks of the readiness of the people to listen to them and ultimately it speaks of the people's desire to let every other thing to go if and only if they can hear the word of God. Amen!!!

These people are a people of fellowship, They were also a people of prayer to the point that they prayed until it became a custom to them and here they are hearing the word of God. This is the pattern of a complete fellowship. Fellowship, prayer and the word.

To sit down mean that they were not in a hurry to hear the word and run away.No! they sat down in order to hear the word, meditate on it and work out modalities to put what they have heard into action.

These people were not a people that goes to fellowship to watch what others are wearing, they don't go to fellowship to watch the man of God display. As far as they were concerned, making sure that God is glorified in their lives is their priority.

Finally the Bible said that they "met there" that place is a place of meeting for all not for a particular few. Not a place were everything is left in the hands of few. It is not a place were meetings were left for a particular few to attend No! they were a people of regular and constant attendance to fellowship/church.

How do you react to the word of God? Do you give it full attention or you just listen for listening sake? Do you sit down to meditate on the word you hear or you allow it to enter through one ear and leave through the other? Remember that Jesus said that "not all that call me Lord will enter the kingdom but only those that do the will of my father"

May you find the God that you seek and may the almighty God bless you with peace and security including aboundant favour in Jesus name Amen.
