MAKE PRAYER AND FELLOWSHIP A HABIT PT2

*MAKE PRAYER AND FELLOWSHIP A HABIT PT2*

*And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there. Acts 16:13*.

We started looking at making prayer and fellowship a habit yesterday and today we will continue to look at it.

The journey to the waterside was made on a sabbath day and they were not found in the the hotel with women, not in their community meeting, not in a special occasion organized by one influential man or woman in the community but they were found in a place of prayer.

In our day many of us have turned sabbath day to so many things. Sabbath day in our day has become a day when we do all odd jobs. We carry our office work home to be done on a sabbath day because we won't go to the office and as a matter of fact we do more at home than we do in the office on a sabbath day.

Many of us go late to the church and sometimes don't even attend church on a sabbath because of one engagement or the other raging from family meetings to community meetings, to social clubs to name but a few.

God warned us to keep the Sabbath holy because it is a day for Him but all that has changed. God wanted the Sabbath day to be a day of rest for us so that after church we can have quiet time with Him, we can have time to attend other church functions like bible study and the rest but the reverse has become the case.

God rested on the Sabbath day and as a good father He wanted us to emulate Him but in our case we have proofed to God that we don't need rest.

*And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Gen 2:2*.

The Sabbath day is a day dedicated to God and God alone. A day meant to please the Lord and Him alone. A day that we are to separate ourselves for God and a day to be alone with none but God. A day to be kept holy by abstaining from all forms of sin and wickedness.

"*Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it. Ex 20:9-11*.

How do you take the Sabbath day? Do you still keep it holy or it has gone out if your "do list" or you have forgotten that it is part of the commandment. Remember that the bible is not only about "thou shall not" they are still some "thou shall" in it.

I pray for the fire of revival in our lives and our land and that God will continue to give us the grace to serve Him better and to make us a better people of His in Jesus name.

Good day beloved and do enjoy a day better than you have ever had. Peace be with you.

To all of us celebrating anything today this is wishing you the best.
