*SPIRITUAL CHECK UP PT34*

*Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them. So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them*. 
*Acts 16:6-10*.

We have seen how to use prayer and meditation to ascend the hills of God and today we will be looking at fasting as part of the mediums to ascend to the hills of God.

Fasting is the act of abstaining from something that you cherish so much. Remember that we are talking of climbing the mountain of the Lord so there are friends that you need to leave behind,

Things that will cause you distractions on your way to the top of the hill, dear friend you will have no choice but to leave them behind. Relationships that needs to go.places that you need to stop going and many things that you need to stop doing.

So fasting does not necessarily mean abstaining from food only but other attachment that will detach you from the grace of God or will deprive you of ascending the mountains of the Lord.

Unfortunately in our world of today many of us see fasting as a difficult task and as such has marked it as a "no go area" in our lives because it is only when we are fasting that we usually have opportunity to good meals either through friends or by attending public functions or by coincidence.

How often do you fast? What is your attitude towards fasting? Do you contract it out to people to do it for you or see it as a difficult task and as such tag it a "no go area" in your life? Remember that there are things that needs fasting to be settled.

I pray that your fasting will birth wellbeing in your life and that as you fast may whether that my father in heaven has not planted in your life and families be rooted out in the name of Jesus. Amen.
