*SPIRITUAL CHECK UP PT15*

*Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them. So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them*. 

*Acts 16:6-10*.

We have been seeing the reason/reasons why God had to mandate Paul and Barnabas to attend to the Macedonian church first and today we will continue to look at more.

Apart from their humility and faith in God something must have prompted them to seek God with such seriousness and i believe that it is the state in which they found themselves. I mean the situation of things around them.

The sons of the prophet sought for Elisha when the condition of their community was bad.

*Then the men of the city said to Elisha, "Please notice, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the ground barren*." *2Kgs 2:19*.

Apart from the situation that they found themselves, they must have seen or heard about the powerful effect of the word of God hence they sought for it.

*Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them*. *Jn 7:22*.

They must have seen the power been demonstrated by the preaching of the word of God.

*And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power*, *1 Cor 2:4*.

What we are trying to establish here is that many good things happen whenever we hear the word of God but unfortunately many of us treat it as one of those things. It is a privilege to hear the word of God because there are many that seek to hear what you are hearing but cannot.

*For assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it*. *Math 13:17*.

How much value do you place on the word of God? How do you see the word of God? How you value the word of God will determine the value and effects that it will have in your life.

I pray that through this word that has just come your way that every bad situation that you have found yourself that by the power in word of God that you will be liberated from them all in the name of Jesus.
