*EXHORTED AND STRENGTHENED PT23*

*Now Judas and Silas, themselves being prophets also, exhorted and strengthened the brethren with many words*.  
*Acts 15:32*.

Having seen why Judas and Silas ministry was mentioned, the work that they did and how they did the work today we will be looking at the men "Judas and Silas"

For the records this is not the Judas that ate so much carrots so much so that it was said of him that "Judas is carrot"😄😄😄😄(laugh small abeg)

This Judas was a christian teacher, surnamed Barsabas. He was sent from Jerusalem to Antioch along with Paul and Barnabas with the decision of the council (Acts 15:22, 27, 32). He was a "prophet" and a "chief man among the brethren."

Silas which means "wood" was a prominent member of the church at Jerusalem; also called Silvanus. He and Judas, surnamed Barsabas, were chosen by the church there to accompany Paul and Barnabas on their return to Antioch from the council of the apostles and elders (Acts 15:22), as bearers of the decree adopted by the council. 

He assisted Paul there in his evangelistic labours, and was also chosen by him to be his companion on his second missionary tour (Acts 16:19-24). He is referred to in the epistles under the name of Silvanus (2 Cor. 1:19; 1 Thess. 1:1; 2 Thess. 1:1; 1 Pet. 5:12).

What is the emphasis in this write up you may ask and i will quickly answer you that the emphasis is to tell you and i that Judas and Silas were Christians like you and i but they went extra mile to promote the kingdom of God and the big question now is "what you doing for the edification of the church?"

It is easy to think that these men were extra ordinary men for them to be able to do extra ordinary things and I will put it to you that they were just ordinary men that choose to do extra ordinary things.

LET US PRAY* *HE HAS RISEN* *Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee*, *Lk 24:5-6*. Jesus conquered sin. He conquered the grave.
