REASONABLE SACRIFICE*

*REASONABLE SACRIFICE*

*I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service*. *Rom 12:1*.

We have looked at sacrifice generally and the benefits of sacrifice so today we want to look at "presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice"

Writing to the church in Corinth st Paul told us that,
*Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 1 Cor 6:19*.

First and foremost he said that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Let us take a look at temple first

1. A Temple is a place of worship. Which means that our bodies are meant to be used to worship God. We worship God with our bodies by going to church, keeping the church neat, organised in the area of ushering, amongst many others.

2. The church is a Holy place. Using our bodies to worship God also means keeping our bodies free from all forms of sin and also speaking to the church also in Corinth st Paul also told us that,

*Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Cor 6:18*.

3. The church is a place if prayer. Prayer is not a once in a while thing rather prayer is something that should be constant and continuous in our life.

4. A place of the word. The church is a place where the word is shared for the edification of souls so how often do you feed your body with the word of God?

The aforementioned look very easy and simple but as simple as it may appear it is called sacrifice hence many find it difficult to do.

I pray that the good Lord will help us to use our bodies for his own glory and our upliftment through Christ our Lord Amen.
