*EXHORTED AND STRENGTHENED PT7*

*Now Judas and Silas, themselves being prophets also, exhorted and strengthened the brethren with many words*.  

*Acts 15:32*.

Having seen why the offices of Judas and Silas were mentioned in the passage and having been told by bro Paul that it was Christ that made it so for the work of ministry and for the edification of the church. Today we are going to look at why the work they did was also mentioned. Alleluia!!!

First of all we must know that the work they did was mentioned to show that it was not just about their title but a call to duty, a call to fulfill assignment and a call to add value to the body of Christ.

Their work was mentioned also to show that they did not just take the title for the sake of taking a  title or inorder to have a high position or a sitting position in the church like many of us do today.

Their work was mentioned to show that the title was not for show or to attract respect and honour or to be respected everywhere they go but to do the work of ministry.

It was to show also that the title was not to add to their accolades or to show that they are more religious than others or that they are closer to God more than any other person or that every person must pass through them to God.

The title did not turn them to God of men as against the men of God that they were supposed to be or which they were.

Have you been bragging with title without taking into consideration the need of the church or the responsibility that accompanies it? Have you asked yourself why you were given the title? Are you living up to the expectations of the title?.

Note that it is not the title that matters but living the life and affecting lives positively by reason of the title knowing full well that we must all give account of our stewardship (title) Also we must remember that to whom much is given much more is also expected.

I pray that the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit help us to live out our christian calling through Christ our Lord Amen.
