*CHARACTER BETRAYS PT5* 

*Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden*'?" 
*Gen 3:1*

We have seen the character of the serpent by which it was introduced and we saw that for one to be cunning it goes beyond being trickish rather it has to do with intelligence gathering by an intelligent being and using that against you not for your good. We are talking about a being that is in the business of deceit with a high level of intelligence and thousands of years of experience in the act.

To tell you how intelligent this being is it came to Eve without introducing itself and it's mission but went ahead to engage her as someone that has the interest of hosting at heart by asking a question as though it was concerned about the welfare of Eve. "Has God indeed said" which means that it knows for sure what God actually said.

Did you see the cunning nature coming to play? Which means that if "if God indeed said that you should not eat of a tree there must be something in that tree and if He (God) did not tell you what it is that means that God is hiding something from you and if God is hiding something from you it means that God cannot be trusted.

To show that it know what it is doing and that it knows what God actually said it went ahead to ask her "You shall not eat of every tree of the garden*'?" to deceive Eve it uses every tree so that Eve can fall for it by pretending not to know that it was only one tree out of many that God told her not to eat so the serpent pretended not to know.

The serpent knows that if Eve knows that it knows that just a particular tree was what they were asked not to eat Eve will ask it why it was asking since it knows what God said already so it pretended so as to put Eve in the defense it came in such a way that no matter what Eve will ever say it will still have a way to deceive her by pretending to be protecting the interest of Eve.

I pray for you and with you that the Lord will banish the spirit of pre mature death out of your life and family by the power in the name of Jesus.
