*Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, "You shall not eat of every tree of the garden*'?" 
*Gen.3.1*

The bible made us understand that the devil appearing in the form of a serpent came to meet the woman and said, "did God really say" remember that faith ones by hearing and hearing by the word of God. So the devil knows the importance of hearing and so he came and sowed the seed of distrust in man by the spoken word.

There is a relationship between what we hear and what we believe that is why even Jesus has to commission His disciples to go and preach the good news because what we hear has a way of affecting what we believe and so having heard from the devil man decided to do what the devil said.

Thirdly the bible also made us understand that evil communication corrupts good manners. Apart from what we hear who we follow also plays an important role in our lives as who we follow determines what follows us.

Another thing that the devil did was to come through the woman, with all due respect to the women we all know that it is said that women are simply the weakness of man, so at any point in time that the devil wants to do his worst he will always capitalise on our weakness to being it to pass.

Another point which i really want to point out for today is our knowledge of God through His word, no wonder a popular man of God called St Jerome told us that ignorance of the word of God is ignorant of God hence the devil asked her "did God really say" in other words are you sure that this is what God said?

I pray for you and with you that the devil will never succeed in using our weakness against us by the power in the name of Jesus.
