*BREAK UP*.

*It is not over until you win*

*There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him*." 
*John.3.1 -2*

We have seen that Mr Nicodemus conquered many things before coming to Jesus and when he came to Jesus he was schooled even as he was a teacher of the law because he has succeeded in conquering himself little wonder the bible told us to break up our fallow ground and advises us not to sow among thorns,
*For thus says the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem: "Break up your fallow ground, And do not sow among thorns*. *Jer.4.3* 

Because Mr Nicodemus conquered himself Jesus had to sow on a fertile ground of his heart not on a stubborn heart that has not been conquered, a conquered self is a fertile ground for the word of God even word of wisdom to strive, had he not conquered himself he would have not been humble enough to listen to Jesus.

In our generation we find difficult to admit that we have anything to work on as far as ourselves are concerned rather we also see the other person as the only one that has a fault and that needs to be conquered for God hence we always find it difficult to work on ourselves.
*He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city*. *Prov.16.32*.

I believe that Nicodemus being a teacher of the law understood this particular portion of the bible very well hence he choose to leave conquering the people to conquering self and because of this he was transformed from a secret night visitor into a wonderful disciple of Jesus that can stand before kings to demand for something on behalf of Jesus even when other disciples abandoned Him.

What are we saying? Should we change our name so as to become a disciple of Jesus like Mr Nicodemus did? No sir, the secret is not in name but our willingness to do the needful. God doe not depend on names to call anyone to Himself as God does waste a name, He redeems it. Jabez name was meant to cause him pain but God turned it to gain that is to say that God does not need us to change our names but our attitude and character for better.

I pray for you and with you that whatsoever that is meant to cause you pain and shame that God will use it as a raw material to bring you good and fame by the power in the name of Jesus.
